The nights become brighter because the sun dips below the horizon at an angle of only 7°. The sun does not descend deeply, and the night turns into continuous twilight from sunset to sunrise.
The earliest White Nights in May are only slightly brighter than usual. However, from June 11 to July 2, during the peak of the White Nights, the streets of Saint Petersburg are truly bright, to the extent that artificial lighting becomes unnecessary.
